I took Alex and Hanna and Veronica and Amanda to the Cougs vs. Vandals game in Pullman yesterday. We had to walk around campus to find food, because the CUB is totally torn apart for remodeling, if you can call it remodeling, they've taken absolutely everything out, it's just a shell now and you can look right through it. We found a cafe in Adams Mall, in Greek row. So we got to sit and watch all the Greeks walk by. Since it was game day they all looked even more alike than usual. The Vandals looked really good the first quarter and a half, then the Cougs turned it around just before the half. The second half was all Cougs and we left at the 10 minutes mark to beat the traffic. I was pretty tired driving back, but Alex and I decided we did need to watch 2 episodes of Enterprise when we got home anyway.
Without really thinking about it, I just clicked on a link on an email I got from the travel site Orbitz. The link said "Top Gaming Getaways." Sounded kinda fun. I'm a little embarrassed with myself for not realizing that they really meant gambling.
She's been asking for a bike for a while. Today we finally went and bought one. And she taught herself to ride. We rode about 7 miles on the centennial trail. Then we went to Sushi.com. Yum! We ordered the "Spokane River Roll" for the first time. It's covered in wasabi sauce, and damn it's good, but the first bite is very surprising!! Then we went to the 6th floor of Macy's and I got a sweet belt and a frayed t-shirt. I'm drinking a little leftover beer from last night in preparation for heading down the the burlesque show, "Pasties and Paddles," at Irv's.
Today I drove the kids and Veronica to my sister's place in Hartline. We played croquet. I made the sweetest shot to win the second game, it was extremely lucky. Alex drove around Hartline. He's pretty good as a new driver. Maybe people shouldn't start driving when they're 15. I called the insurance company to get him added on the policy and they said there's no charge for permited drivers. That was a good surprise. I'm debating going down to Far West. After last night beer is just not very appealing. And sleeping sounds very attractive. Hmmm....
Today I think I will help Patrick and Allison do their moving. I was worried about my ankle, since it's been swollen since bloomsday, but I went for a 3 mile walk yesterday and it was fine, actually felt better by the end of the walk.
If I understood about filtering I'd mention what I'm planning for tonight, but I guess I'll figure that out later.
Well I wasn't exactly motivated this morning, but when I got there I decided that if I was gonna do it I might as well go all the way. So I ran as much of Bloomsday as I could, basically everything that wasn't uphill. I think I finished in around 1:30, which beats last year's previous best of 1:43. So I feel pretty good about that. Now we're watching King Kong. I slept through the first half hour, but I don't think I missed anything.
It's not looking too warm out. I might have to run just to keep warm. I guess I'm going alone this year. All of my normal group bagged out. Maybe that'll be good. I do have several re-hydration options afterwards, O'D's, Cyrus, and the Satellite. Or maybe just go straight home. Hanna had this idea to make our own crunchy rolls by buying the premade sushi rolls from huckleberrys, covering them with tempura batter and frying.
Why is my computer so slow? Maybe it's the 2 viruses that were found yesterday. Hmmm...
